What are ODA points? #
ODA points are points that you receive for carrying out activities that contribute to your expertise as a nurse or caregiver. ODA stands for ‘Other expertise-enhancing activities’.
How many ODA points do you have to achieve as a healthcare professional? #
In 5 years, a healthcare professional must achieve 184 points. For nurses, 104 of these must be ODA points and the other 80 points must be accredited. A caregiver must obtain 124 ODA points and 60 accredited points.
With CareUp, up to 21 accreditation points can be obtained. This makes it easy for you as a healthcare professional to remain competent and competent and to meet the requirement for healthcare professionals.
How can you earn ODA points? #
In principle, you can decide for yourself with which activities you as a healthcare professional earn the ODA points. However, there are 3 conditions:
The activity must be aimed at promoting
expertise as a nurse or carer The activity must not be part of your work
The activity must not be accredited by the quality register of the V&VN
Some examples of activities with which you can earn ODA points are:
- Clinical lesson
- Publish article
- Participation in the committee, working group or board
- Self-study (reading professional literature – studying)
- The allocation of hours for ODA points is based on the added value that the activity has for your expertise and not on the effort. In general, 1 hour
- expertise-promoting activity equal to 1 ODA point.
In addition, there is a fixed number of hours that may be allocated to an ODA.
