This allows students and healthcare professionals to practice care actions in an innovative way. Students are thus faster and better prepared for practice. In this interview you can read how Jaap Mulder, early adopter of CareUp and teacher at the Noorderpoort, approaches this in daily practice.   <\/p><p><strong>Can you introduce yourself?<br><\/strong>Jaap: &#8220;Yes, of course! My name is Jaap Mulder. I am a nurse by training. From my work at the Wilhelmina hospital in Assen, I have grown to become department head and regional manager. In 2016 I decided to make the switch to education. As a result, I am now affiliated with the Noorderpoort, Nursing course. Here I teach different grades, although I am mainly connected to the 2nd grade. In addition to the nursing lessons, I teach the skills skills lessons.&#8221;<\/p><p>What is it like to teach future healthcare professionals?<br>Jaap: &#8220;As a teacher, I think it is important to prepare students well for working in healthcare. As a former nurse and manager, I can let these students share my knowledge and experience. I once came across this statement and it is an important fact for me: &#8220;The most difficult task for the teacher is not to spoil the student&#8217;s pleasure in learning.&#8221; That is why we as a team of teachers think it is extremely important to offer contemporary and innovative education. For the skills lessons, this means that we are up-to-date with regard to offering knowledge in the field of nursing skills. Not only in the content but also in the way of offering.&#8221; <\/p><p>And then you came across CareUp. How did that go?<br>Jaap: &#8220;I saw an advertisement on LinkedIn a year before the Corona troubles. It immediately aroused my interest and I first used a trial version myself. I then shared this with the skills colleagues. The acceleration came when Corona struck. The lessons had to be online. What to do with the skills lessons? After all, the students could not follow practical lessons. The theory lessons were given online. In consultation with the MT, it was then decided to use CareUp for our students. It offers the students the opportunity to independently practice the actions at the time that suits them best. We see it as an addition to the existing practical lessons.&#8221;<\/p><p><strong>What has it brought you?<br><\/strong>Jaap: &#8220;It has given the students extra training moments in particular. The practice moments at school are limited. Some students get the hang of it faster than others. In addition, it is nice that the theory is also reflected and that the actions are based on the Vilans protocols that we also use at school. Taking a test in CareUp is a nice conclusion to the practice. They also have to hand in the certificate they receive at our school via It&#8217;s learning. CareUp is therefore really part of our skills education. Finally, it also saves the school in the consumption of resources.&#8221;<\/p><p><strong>Would you recommend CareUp to someone else? <\/strong><br>Jaap: &#8220;Yes, definitely.
